Szymon Fijalkowski began his professional career straight after completing Physiotherapy degree at a Department of Health Sciences at Medical Academy in Bydgoszcz, Poland in 2004. He began to work for a renowned Polish sanatorium ‘Krystynka’ in Ciechocinek. Fijalkowski spent there 6 months ‘Krystynce’ treating people with lower limbs illnesses, neurological disorders and metabolic disorders. He learnt to use balneotherapy, kinesytherapy and physiotherapy; also became familiar with electrotherapy, magnetic therapy and laser therapy, using therapeutic mud hydrotherapy.
He then moved to work for Rehabilitation Department of a Town Hospital in Przasnysz, Poland. Szymon's knowledge and experience of treating neurological disorders such as strokes and brain and vertebral core injuries, Parkinson disease and peripheral nerves paralysis let alone casual pains of the spine. In June of 2005 he took up studies at a Cardio surgery and Intensive Therapy Department of University Hospital in Bydgoszcz. Range of his duties covered post-surgical therapy of patients subject to by-pass insertions, coronary disease and vulvae defects surgeries. Alongside he run a small private practice as a Physiotherapist at a private clinic ‘Unislaw’, Poland. Therein for almost 8 months he treated patients with the lower limbs illnesses, neurological disorders, rheumatic diseases and professional, sport-bound injuries also faulty posture.
In 2006 Szymon Fijalkowski arrived in Ireland and began his registration procedure with ISCP (Irish Association of Physiotherapists) completed in November 2007. He undertook work for New Park Care Centre as Care Assistant. He also co-operated with a physiotherapist taking part in a Falls Prevention Programme designed to help elderly. After he had obtained an official ISCP registration he became able to work as a Physiotherapist in Ireland. He then advanced to be a physiotherapist at New Park Care Centre, and from June 2008 he has been working for Medicus Medical Centre in Dublin.
Szymon is very keen to broaden his knowledge and takes every opportunity to take part in specialist courses and trainings. His speciality is diagnosing and treating illnesses of the spine. Range of services covered by him as a Medicus's specialist are:
